Il mondo musicale del Medio Oriente fra le mani sapienti di Yinon Muallem, con la partecipazione di Lorenzo D’Erasmo, al termine di un pomeriggio di studio intorno alle percussioni mediorientali e la loro tradizione.
Yinon Muallem was born in Israel in 1968 to parents of Iraqi origin. After earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tel Aviv, he found himself drawn to the world of music.
Starting with Middle Eastern percussion, he then began learning the oud and composing his own music.
His exposure to the beauty of Ottoman Turkish music moved him to study the Turkish oud with master
Yurdal Tokcan, and in 2002 he moved to Istanbul and joined the Istanbul Sazendeleri, Istanbul
His versatility and curiosity have brought him into collaboration with a variety of musicians
including Ross Daly (Greece); Omer Faruk Tekbilek (Turkey-United States); Kudsi Erguner (Turkey-
France), The Tekfen Philarmonic Orchestra, İstanbul Sazendeleri, Akin Eldes, Anjelika Akbar, Derya
Turkan (Turkey); Sirin Pancaroglu (Turkey): Alim Gasimov (Azerbaijan); Ganesh Kumar, Subash Chandran (India) and many more.
Yinon has performed in a variety of festivals and concerts in Japan, Turkey, Estonia, Spain, the USA,
Belgium, England, Holland, Greece, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Morocco, Bosnia,
Cyprus, Israel and Azerbaijan.
Yinon released 10 albums of his compositions wrote two books- “Istanbul – Tel Aviv who tells the story
of his journey between the cultures and the novel “Deep Inside A Broken Violin”.
Lorenzo D’Erasmo was born in 1993 and studied Percussion Instruments with Andrea Pestalozza at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of Milan.
Since young age he gets interested in contemporary music, collaborating with various ensembles such as mdi ensemble, Sentieri selvaggi and Divertimento Ensemble and playing in different contemporary music festivals and seasons in Italy and abroad such as MI.TO, Biennale di Venezia, Milanomusica Festival, Sound of Wander, Mantova Chamber Music Festival, Sentieri Selvaggi Season, and many others.
He is really interested in the artistic relation between electronic music, visual art and installations, creating projects that links all theses artistic expressions.
He is also interested in the study and research of percussion instruments from extra-eu musical traditions, with a particular focus on frame drums of MiddleEastern tradition.
